We will never truly understand the workings of The Holy Spirit if we refuse to lean into the presence of the Spirit (2 Timothy3:5). This requires denying of self and the full absorbing of the Spirit. The Bible tells us to be filled with the spirit (Ephesians 6:5) and to someone who has not encountered The Holy Spirit, it can feel like a foreign concept.
One can pretend that they know what that looks like by pretending to be good, but the Holy Spirit transforms you, breaking every wrong idea that you have held about God and about yourself. The Holy Spirit comes in to guide and to lead us in our daily lives and to teach us all the things (John 14:26). One of the things that we need to do to be led by the spirit is to fully surrender to the teaching and knowledge of God and allow ourselves to be used as vessels for God. This pouring in moves us to do God’s will and to operate under the guidance and covering of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit teaches us about Christ Jesus and helps us to move into full being of Christ.
When we allow the Holy Spirit to lead, we do more than live but we live with purpose, holiness and righteousness because in our own capacity, this would not be possible. As you pray and grow in the knowledge of Christ, I pray you allow the Holy Spirit to come in and transform you. You do this by inviting Him into each moment and allowing yourself to be still enough to know His voice.
John 14:26 tells us that The Holy Spirit is a present help, teaching you all things. Allow the Holy Spirit to teach you the work, to correct you, to guide you and to counsel you. You have a friend in Jesus through The Holy Spirit. He is available. The Bible tells us that we cannot call The Holy Spirit in vain, when we call, He comes. Invite Him in your life today.
Acts 2: 38 “Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of The Holy Spirit.”
